THE NET WE CARRY - WAVU TULIOBEBA
The Net We Carry - Wavu Tuliobeba a multidisciplinary dance performance by Tadhi Alawi and Samwel Japhet
CREATION 2026, 50 MINUTES
The Net We Carry - Wavu Tuliobeba is a multidisciplinary dance performance that traces how the body remembers the past and carries memories of loss, joy and wounds. Some memories fade, while others remain heavy, returning through movement, breath, and silence. When pain is not fully held, understood, or released, it becomes a cry or rage the body still carries.
The performance explores the invisible burdens we carry through our memories, experiences, and responsibilities, and how they shape identity, relationships, and presence in the world. It invites audiences to face life in societies marked by unresolved histories.
The performers ask: What do we carry that was never chosen, never spoken, and never fully released? Their bodies trace what words cannot and movements become a pathway of memory and reflection. Through dance, voice, text, colour, and music, a large net hangs above the stage as a symbolic presence, while colours painted on the performers’ bodies reveal memory as something shared, alive, and physical.
