Nantea Dance Company 

Nantea Dance Company is a Tanzanian-based non-profit contemporary dance company founded in 2015 by Tadhi Alawi and Samwel Japhet.The company provides multifaceted performances and community-based projects, aiming to contribute to promoting and developing the Tanzanian dance scene and inspire youths to become ambassadors of growth and social change.
 
The company's goal is to make high-quality dance work and build a culture where art has its own value. Nantea Dance Company is committed to touring its choreographic works, which have been showcased in The Netherlands, Israel, Latvia, USA, Mozambique, Germany, Rwanda, Belgium, Uganda, Sweden, Kenya, UK and Tanzania.
 
In addition to performances, Nantea Dance Company actively engages in cross-cultural collaborations and capacity-building initiatives. It organizes a bi-annual contemporary dance night to showcase Tanzanian and East African dance works, promoting the regional dance scene. The company also leads Nje Ndani, an outreach program designed to empower emerging Tanzanian dance artists through workshops, seminars, and open dialogues on artistic expression and creative entrepreneurship.
