Nantea Dance Company 

Nantea Dance Company is a Tanzanian-based contemporary performance company founded in 2015 by Tadhi Alawi and Samwel Japhet. The company produces multifaceted touring performances, development and social projects and organizes dance platforms, aiming to contribute to promoting and developing the Tanzanian dance scene and inspire youths to become ambassadors of growth and social change.
 
The company's goal is to make high-quality dance work and build a culture where art has its own value. Nantea Dance Company is committed to touring its choreographic works, which have been showcased in The Netherlands, Canada, Switzerland, Israel, Italy, Austria, Latvia, USA, Mozambique, Germany, Rwanda, Belgium, Uganda, Sweden, Kenya and Tanzania.
 
In addition to performances, Nantea Dance Company actively engages in cross-cultural collaborations and capacity-building initiatives. It organizes Kiota Cha Dansi (A Nest of Dance), an inclusive dance platform launched with Goethe-Institut Tanzania since 2025 to showcase Tanzanian and African dance works, promoting the regional dance scene. The company also leads Nje Ndani, a capacity-building program for emerging Tanzanian and East African dancers, designed to empower emerging dance artists through workshops, seminars, and open dialogues on artistic expression and creative entrepreneurship.
