YIN - YANG
YIN-YANG a multidisciplinary dance performance by Tadhi Alawi and Samwel Japhet
CREATION 2024, 50 MINUTES
YIN-YANG is a multidisciplinary dance performance exploring the dynamics of power, conflict, and imbalance between the individual and society. Through a poetic composition of dance, music, text, and film projection, the piece uses the contrast between black and white to express the experiences of individuals and the world, confronting the complex realities and our current relationship with the world in which we live.
The choreography embodies the struggle between the individual and society and shows the dynamics of power in the search for balance in life. It shows different levels of the performers’ relationship to the imbalances of the world (from the global to the individual). In this way, each performer confronts their own complex realities and place in the world.
The performance invites audiences to face uncomfortable realities and reflect on their own relationship with society, power, and harmony.
